Randomness

I’ve been tagged by Johanna at Green Gourmet Giraffe to blog about seven random facts about me. So here you go:
1 I am addicted to lip balm. I cannot go anywhere without one. I buy them constantly because I always lose them or wreck them (usually by leaving them in the car to melt or putting them in the washing machine).

2 My favourite colour is pink. Yes I am quite girly :)

3 I have no memory. Well, I have a memory, it’s just a very bad one. I forget what happened at the start of the film before it gets to the end, same with books. Once I went to health food store to buy gingko biloba to help with my memory, but I couldn’t remember what it was called when I got there. And I just remembered that I bought a book about improving your memory, but I keep forgetting to read it :)

4 I don’t like holey things. I don’t mean religious stuff, I mean things with lots of little holes in them. They make me feel queasy. Not sure why, but they just creep me out. Like when you cut a melon in half and the seeds leave all these little holes . ..ick

5 Prince Charles and I share the same birthday. We weren’t born in the same year though :) When I was at school I was desperate for him to become King in the hope that his birthday would become a public holiday. Still waiting...

6 I am sort of allergic to beans. One day last year I ate some canned black beans and immediately after I broke out in a crazy, horrible rash all over my body. Since then any time I eat beans (apart from my lovely chickpeas) I get an itchy swollen feeling mouth when I eat them. So, I don’t eat them anymore :(

7 I have an inability to walk around furniture. I am constantly covered in bruises from tables, chairs and doorknobs (yes, sometime I even find it hard to walk through an open door :)).

Now you know a little more about me :) I would like to tag vko at Lifestyles of the Chic & Vegan and Kati at The Veggie Voice if you guys are interested in doing it and have the time!
Sorry if you came by earlier and were unable to comment. I don't know what happened, but I think it is fixed now :)

I share #7 with you. My legs are always covered in bruises. :-(

I cannot understand why I have the problem with door knobs even with very wide doorways so was pleased to see someone else with the same problem.

Good thing I was never a model as I am never bruise free.

glad your comments are working now - liked your random facts! gave me a smile esp about the memory and the lip balm - oh well, at least it is unlikely to get hot enough in Scotland for your lip balm to melt (I also have quite a few tubes of lipbalm about in various bags and shelves - once my little niece used a whole new tub of lipbalm by smearing it through her hair - not recommended!)

I am constantly running into things, as well...or tripping...or burning myself in the kitchen...I'm a mess! I inherited that one from my mom, though. Sorry to hear about the beans. =(

I will have to start working on a list of my own!

Hello there! I was so happy to be tagged- it's fun to post with an assignment...I must miss school.

And I'm glad that your comments are back up- wanted to respond right away.

You aversion to holey things made me laugh- that is funny, but I can see how one could be squeamish about the part which once held the melon seeds...

Hi There,
I too have a real lack of memory and I am always walking into furniture, do you think the two are exotereically linked? (I couldn't even remember how to spell that, I had to look it up!)
Anyway, just to let you know that it is National Vegetarian Week in the uk (you need to know these things for moving back here) and I have linked to your Cinnamon Sweet Almond rolls, as they looked so scrum! Hope you don't mind!

Brooke, I am glad it’s not just me!

Jackie, I think it’s more than my bruised legs that has prevented me from having a modeling career!

Johanna, I would imagine lipbalm doesn’t make great hear gel!!

vko, I was hoping that if I posted about my holey aversion someone else might say that they don’t like them either… but I think it’s only me!! I am glad you were happy to be tagged, I was worried you might be too busy to do it.

Holler, I am beginning to think that there’s a link between vegans and walking in to furniture…or maybe it’s just females and walking in to furniture! I read it was National Vegetarian Week. I will go and look at your post, thanks for the link ( I am guessing it was to the Chocolate Hazelnut Rolls)!

You are right, I added the post very late at night and remembered the pictures of them being rolled up, went to the tags at the end and spotted cinnamon sweet almond spread and though aha and then eureka! I'l change it on my post . Sorry, sorry!

Yay, I can comment now! I loved reading your list, and totally relate to the bruises/running into furniture bit. No matter how much thought I put into it, it is inevitable for me to be covered with bruises. They heal a little quicker with some iron and vitamin C, as I've learned the hard way! ;-)

Oooh, ooh, another thing we have in common: I too believe that peanut butter and cookies should be kept seperate. I love them both, just not in the same cookie. It must be an American thing, since neither of us was born and raised in the U.S. and neither of us likes peanut butter cookies???

I'm with you on #7. Half of the time I don't even know where I get the bruises. And I laughed at #5! Now I know when your birthday is ;o)

Fun to know more about you. We share our love of pink, lip balm and furniture accident-prone-ness.

I'm glad I can leave a comment. I'm right with you on the holey food except for me it's lumpy food. In my pre-veg days, I couldn't eat tapioca or cottage cheese and just looking at it grossed me out.

My daughter is a lip-gloss addict too!

This is fun! I like learning these randome things. I have two things in common with your list: your addiction to lip balm, and I forgot the other.

Hello! I was googling aversion to holey things, and your site came up. Both my sister and I have the same thing. Anything porous with lots of little holes gives us the creeps. We thought it may have been a traumatic experience we both had as kids having to do with something porous, but we can't figure it out. Let us know if you find more!

I have memory problems, too, and someone mentioned that she had heard that that could be a symptom of celiac disease. Do you have any of these other symptoms? http://www.csaceliacs.org/celiac_symptoms.php
